Warren County Jail Roster

The Warren County Jail Inmate Roster is a public resource that allows anyone to check who is currently in custody at the county jail in Kentucky. WarrenCourt.us helps quickly find publicly available information about current and recent inmates. Additionally, information can be obtained through the official website of the Warren County law enforcement departments, the Kentucky Online Offender Lookup (KOOL) system, by phone, or in person at the jail reception. The roster allows citizens to confirm a person's detention, view the charges, and find out the booking date. In Warren County, this list is maintained by the Jailer’s office and is updated as new bookings are processed.

Search Current Inmates in Warren Jail

To find an inmate, use one of the several methods below.

Online Search

  1. Go to WarrenCourt.us and enter the full legal name or booking number of the person you are looking for.
  2. Use the Kentucky Offender Search (KOOL) system — select Warren County Jail from the dropdown list of institutions. The system allows searching by last name; you can also enable alias search.
  3. If the roster is displayed as a list without a search field, press Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F on Mac) and enter the last name — the browser will highlight matches.

To start the search, you will need:

  • The inmate's full legal name and surname
  • Booking number, if known

Juvenile offenders are not displayed in the public roster.

By Phone

Call Warren County Jail directly. The operator can confirm if a specific person is in custody if you provide the full name and date of birth.

In Person

Visit the Warren County Jail lobby during business hours. Contact the on-duty officer through the information window. Bring identification with you.

Find Warren Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created at the moment a detained person is officially admitted to the jail. It is not a sentence or court decision — just a record of admission.

During booking, the following data is recorded:

  • Unique booking number
  • Date and time of admission
  • Charges
  • Arresting agency (e.g., county sheriff, Bowling Green police, or Kentucky State Police)
  • Basic personal information: name, date of birth, gender, race

Access these records in several ways:

  1. Through the online roster — most bookings appear on WarrenCourt.us or in the KOOL system after processing.
  2. Through a public records request — Warren County government complies with KRS 61.870–61.884. Submit an Open Records Request through the official county website to obtain copies of booking documents.
  3. Through the Office of Circuit Court Clerk — if you need court materials for a specific case, contact the circuit court clerk's office.

Note: A booking record and a criminal history are different things. A full criminal background check is conducted by the Kentucky State Police, and it requires fingerprints.

Search the Warren Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The roster supports two main search methods.

Search by Last Name

Enter the last name in Latin script. If the last name is common (e.g., Johnson or Smith), add the first name to narrow the results. A few tips:

  • Check spelling — one extra letter can hide the desired result.
  • Try spelling variations if the name has a hyphen or apostrophe.
  • Some systems allow partial search: enter only the first few letters of the last name.

Search by Booking Number

If you know the booking number, enter it in the appropriate field. This is the most accurate method — the system will return exactly one record.

If the Search Yields No Results

The absence of a record does not always mean the person was not detained. Possible reasons:

  • The booking is still being processed, and the record has not yet appeared in the system.
  • The person has already been released — after release, the record may disappear from the current roster.
  • The person is held in another facility (e.g., in the federal court of the Western District of Kentucky or a state facility).
  • The name was entered incorrectly.

In such cases, call the jail directly or submit a public records request.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Warren

The Warren County Jail roster is updated periodically — usually within a few hours after the booking process is completed. However, this does not happen instantly.

Main limitations to be aware of:

LimitationWhat It Means in Practice
Delay between arrest and appearance in the rosterFrom the moment of arrest to the publication of the record, it may take from a few hours to a day — until processing, photographing, and fingerprinting are completed
Disappearance of records after releaseThe roster only displays individuals currently in custody. After release, posting bail, or transfer, the record is generally removed
Lack of archiveThe public online roster is not a complete archive of all past bookings. For historical data, submit an Open Records Request
Data entry errorsSometimes names or charges are entered incorrectly; this can complicate the search

If you need information about past bookings or a full criminal history, contact the Kentucky Court of Justice record check service or submit a request through the Kentucky State Police. The roster is a snapshot of the current state, not an exhaustive database.
